La plataforma para reabrir el Muro al tráfico recibe el apoyo de la zona rural.
Se llama «Stopmuro» y es una plataforma ciudadana que pide que el tráfico rodado regrese al paseo del Muro y que la avenida de El Molinón no se llegue a peatonalizar. El grupo, que se define a sí mismo como apolítico, cuenta con un buen puñado de apoyos a los pocos días de su fundación. El más importante, el que le proporcionará la Federación de Asociaciones de Vecinos de la Zona Rural «Les Caseríes». La entidad que preside Manuel González-Posada incentivará la recogida de firmas para que este nuevo grupo logre sus fines. De momento, a la idea ya se han sumado cuatro asociaciones de vecinos de la zona rural. Son La Providencia, Deva, Castiello y Somió.
Los gestores de esta nueva plataforma, que hasta la semana próxima cuando celebren su asamblea, carece de representantes, entienden las medidas tomadas por el Ayuntamiento de limitar el tráfico rodado en el paseo del Muro y en la avenida de El Molinón como consecuencia de la pandemia de coronavirus. Si bien, entiende este colectivo que tras «esa situación excepcional» el «tráfico rodado en ambas vías ha de volver a la situación anterior». El colectivo «Stopmuro» defiende que el paseo del Muro es la «verdadera ronda norte de la ciudad» y que canaliza mucho tráfico en los días en los que el recinto ferial Luis Adaro y el estadio de El Molinón tienen actividad. También reclaman un estudio técnico para determinar qué efectos tendrá cerrar el acceso a vehículos en esas dos vías. «No hay consenso ciudadano ni político», apuntan. Además, el grupo opina que la consecuencia de los cierres del paseo del Muro y de la avenida de El Molinón provocan tráfico más intenso en la avenida de Castilla, en Torcuato Fernández Miranda, en la avenida de la Costa, en la calle Uría y en la plaza San Miguel.
